Helen L. Greathouse
Helen Greathouse, Midland philanthropist and long time benefactor to MC, died in September 2001, leaving a legacy of giving that benefited the entire community.
Steve Kiser, MC Board of Trustees member, said of Mrs. Greathouse, "The mission of Helen Greathouse's life has been to provide numerous opportunities for Midlanders—from business development to housing, and from equipment for the disabled to educating children."
Mrs. Greathouse, along with the Helen L. Greathouse Charitable Trust established in 1997, has given generously to MC with gifts to the Chaparral Circle Endowment Fund, Helen L. Greathouse Children's Center, Dorothy and Todd Aaron Medical Science Building, Health Information Technology program, Advanced Technology Center, Student Services, and the Fox Science Building.
When the trust was established, Mrs. Greathouse said, "My husband, Barney, and I had always wanted to share our good fortune with people who did not have the same opportunities in life. This trust will allow our dreams to come true."
