The Texas Jamm Band
"Member's of George Strait's Ace in the Hole Band"
"What began as a weekly local jam session for some of the Ace In The Hole band members has grown into a successful honky-tonking, hard-driving country band of seasoned musicians.
Their popularity has expanded from that weekly local jam to other venues, private parties, and corporate events in Texas and neighboring states, including a monthly kick-butt and dance crwod night at Mo's Place in Katy, Texas. This December will mark the fifth year that Members of Ace in the Hole have played in Las Vegas, Nevada during the National Rodeo Finals.
The band has changed a little over time, but the music remains the same as it was when the group originally started out, filling the dance floor of that college night club while the club-goers partied and danced their feet off.
The current players are: Mike Daily, an original and founding member of the Ace in the Hole Band on steel guitar; Ronnie Huckaby, George's long-time band leader and piano player; Benny McArthur, 29 year veteran of Ace in the Hole, on fiddle, guitar and lead vocals; and Joe Manual , five-year veteran of the George Strait tour, playing lead guitar and lead vocals. Joe's impressive career has also included tours with Merle Haggard, Lee Ann Womack, Randy Travis and Ricky Skaggs. Fiddle player Chris Whitten has toured with Vince Gill and Texas mega-star Kevin Fowler.
The rhythm section consists of Dan Dreeben, one of Texas' top sessiona and live performance drummers, whose resume includes everyone from the San Antonio Symphony Pops to Bo Diddley to Gary Stewart. Tom Batts, who plays bass guitar and sings lead vocals is a 20 year veteran of the Texas honky tonk circuit. One of Tom's highlights is playing the world famous WSM Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
Mike, Ronnie, Benny and Joe, along with the other pickers, play music that can only be defined as fun, with maximum dance-ability, and no one has more fun than the band. It's good time country music: a perfect blend of classic traditional favorites, hot current tunes, western swing, shuffles, Cajun, original, and of course, a big dose of George Strait tunes.
The Texas Jamm Band featuring Members of Ace in the Hole are a perfect fit for dancing, partying with friends or just having a cocktail and listening to good country music. "
